I have had this rack for a few years, transferring it from one bike to another and it has served me well and looks like it will last for a good few years more.
The rack is made by Altura, a UK company which has for many years been making a huge range of cycling equipment and clothing and the quality shows. The aluminium frame of the rack is sturdy and the fitting points offer enough adjustment to be able to adapt to different frames with little playing around. The mounting points to the seat tube adjust enough to allow the top of the rack to sit level which is good for carrying additional luggage there. I normally have my tent bungeed on to the top rack and this still allows enough space to fit and remove the panniers without having to clear the top. This is extremely handy when taking the bike on to trains etc.
This model is made specifically for disc brakes and the lower mounting brackets are wide enough to clear the brake area without making the rack too wide. I have a rear light fitted on to the bracket at the back of the rack and this does not interfere with the fitting of panniers. The black coating has worn off at the pannier mounting points with use but this does not affect the use and as there is no sign of any corrosion it is purely cosmetic.
