I bought this front light for use on my mountain bike when I was still commuting to and from work. For 2/3 months of the year I was riding in the dark both mornings and evenings. I was using canal towpaths which were not lit so I needed a powerful light. At the time I bought this light it cost me less than £40 which was around the middle of the range of lights I considered. The light is sturdy, made from alloy and mounts on a twist off bracket. I’m not sure how long this will last but only time will tell.
The Ori 1700 lumens has a central LED which has a maximum of 1000 lumens and three levels . It can be switched to combinations of front and side beams which give it a wide variety of settings and power. The side beams also include a strobe. I actually found that I mainly used the lower of the settings and rarely the strobe as I don’t usually use this on my bikes. This ensures the charge lasts much longer. I also like the ability to be able to switch to a wider beam if needed.
The light has a powerbank facility but I don’t think I would ever need to charge any other component from it but it is good to have the option in case I ever need to put a charge into a rear light.
