evoc multi-frame pack M

I needed a bag I could fit into the frame of my ALICE to carry tools and spares when I was touring. I was looking for something which was sturdy, would remain fitted to the bike and was compact enough to be unobtrusive when I was riding. The evoc medium frame bag seemed to fit all these criteria so I bought one and it certainly does the job I needed it for.

The bag with its 1 litre capacity is a good size for my needs and holds all the tools and spares I usually carry for extended trips. This includes a spare inner tube, multi tools, a bottle of lubricant, puncture repair kit as well as a cover for my leather brooks saddle. The zipped opening extends around three sides which means the bag opens fully on one side and gives me access to all of the contents. There is also an elasticated pocket inside which is handy for smaller items. The zip is covered which gives it a good degree of waterproofing and the bag itself is made from a water-resistant material. I have had no issues with water ingress. This is maybe helped by the sheltered mounting position.

I mounted the bag in the angle of the frame below my saddle. The medium bag comes with four velcro straps and multiple mounting points for them which gives a bit of versatility as well as security. To be honest the fitting did take a bit of time to get the straps lined up and tightened but once it was in place it is secure enough to remain there. The bag comes supplied with transparent film to protect your frame but I found that because I had to move the straps a few times to get the ideal position I didn’t use them all. One thing I would have liked was a zipped opening on both sides of the bag so I could access the contents from either side but this is a minor gripe.

There seems to be issues with connecting to the German manufacturer’s web site but they do offer a large range of cycle luggage and bags and these can be found through a range of suppliers.
