brooks waterproof saddle rain cover

For an expenditure of around £15 this rain cover was one of the more useful if less used items I have bought for my bike. I carry it in the tools bag on my touring bike. It is only used when I park my bike up overnight in campsites or if I’m leaving my bike out in the open for any length of time and it is likely to rain. It is not really necessary or practical to have the cover fitted when riding as it can move about a bit. But it is invaluable for keeping the leather saddle dry at other times.

Being designed specifically for Brooks saddles means the cover fits well. It fastens with a cord art the rear of the cover. When this is pulled tight it is securely held in place with a toggle and is very unlikely to blow off. As a soaked leather saddle can easily deform, the rain cover is an advisable addition. It is light but the nylon material it is made from is strong enough I reckon it will last for a long time.
